40th. Anniversary Concert - Come join us for a 40th. Anniversary Celebration Concert on Sunday, April 28, at 2:00 pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 229 Cowperthwaite Place, Westfield. Music will be provided by the band Watson, directed by "Cadillac" Phil Rinaldi. The intermission will be played by the Florian Schantz Jazz Combo, featuring Florian Schantz, Brian Plagge, Caryn Feder and Lowell Schantz. Door prizes will be awarded. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased here at our studios or at the door the afternoon of the event.

| Anniversary Celebration Event - A continuing celebration for the 40th anniversary will take place on Thursday, May 2, with a concert performed by Majestic Winds, the professional wind band of the NJWA. Directed by Howard Toplansky, the concert will begin at 7:30 pm and will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 559 Raritan Road, Clark. Tickets for the event are $10. | Student News - The following students at the NJWA Music Studio have been awarded various honors. These include Sophie Hurwitz, Early Morning Orchestra on Violin at Roosevelt Intermediate School; Edison Intermediate School students Christopher Ng, 1st. Chair Violin; Olivia Hamilton, 2nd Chair, 1st. Violin; Morgan Eng, 2nd Chair Violin; Sara Kischner and Gabrielle de Cottis, from Wilson School, All City Band on Flute; Charlotte Perez, 2nd Violin, Region Orchestra; Mia Cimino, 1st. Soprano, Region Chorus; Emily Hurwitz, Chamber Orchestra , Westfield High School. Michael Carides passed with distinction the Associated Board at the Royal School of Music. Savion Brown and Matthew Osment both raised money for Ronald McDonald House as part of the NJMTA Performathon and played at Westminster Choir College. |
