Program menu
- Story and song — a picture book paired with live music, movement and simple percussion for ages 2 to 5.
- Instrument petting zoo — a hands-on table of strings, winds, brass and percussion with teaching artists guiding first sounds.
- Meet the instrument — a short recital and demonstration by one of our faculty musicians, with time for questions.
- Teen songwriting and production — a workshop on writing a song and recording it on a laptop, drawn from our music production class.
- Afternoon recital — student and faculty performers for an adult audience, with brief spoken introductions.
- Craft workshop — a guided art project with materials supplied.
Summer reading and school breaks
Our programs slot easily into summer reading kickoffs, winter break weeks and teen advisory programming. If you book more than one session we can build a themed series so returning families get something new each week.
Cost and funding
Fees are kept at the low end of what visiting-performer budgets allow, and some sessions are offered free through our outreach program. Friends of the Library groups and local grant funds have covered the balance for several of our partners.
