Music Fun Time Policies

New Jersey Workshop for the Arts – Music Fun Time Policies as of 5/2025

Policies And Procedures

Program: Music FunTime at the New Jersey Workshop for the Arts (“NJWA”) is a comprehensive, progressive, structured curriculum that continues until student is ready for private music lessons in a particular instrument. It is designed to lay the groundwork for a strong foundation of music theory using a fun and innovative program using instruments, teaching materials such as puzzles and games, crafts and singing. Students are given homework that they are expected to complete at home with parent/guardian. When student is ready for private music lessons, the Music FunTime teacher will advise parent/guardian by suggesting the commencement of weekly half-hour private lessons on an appropriate instrument.

Fees: Tuition, which includes all necessary materials, is $110.00 monthly. There is a one-time registration fee of $50.00. Tuition is payable every month on or around the same day of the month as the original start date (e.g., every 15th of the month). In a month when there are 5 classes instead of 4, YOU WILL NOT BE CHARGED FOR THIS EXTRA CLASS. This will be in lieu of make-up classes. There are three FREE classes per calendar year.

Missed Classes: No credits or make-ups will be given for missed classes. You are automatically given 3 FREE classes per calendar year when there are 5 weeks in a month instead of 4, in lieu of a make-up class.

Withdrawal & Refunds: New Jersey Workshop for the Arts requires written notice of cancellation in advance of monthly renewal date. No refund will be issued if notice is given after monthly renewal date.

Substitutions: The NJWA reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly-scheduled teacher is unable to teach any class. If a teacher is unavailable and NJWA cannot provide a substitute, the NJWA will make a decision on when to schedule a make-up class.

Care of Students: The program is not responsible for providing before- or after-class care for any students. Students are not to be left unattended at any time on any premises of the NJWA. Students are expected to follow a code of behavior at all times while on such premises. Damage to any property of such premises or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and student will be subject to dismissal from program without refund.

Injuries: Parents, legal guardians and/or caregivers of minor children waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on any NJWA premises where program is taught, resulting from normal lesson class activity or any other activity conducted by the students before, during or after class times

Photo Release: NJWA is hereby granted permission to take photographs or videos of the students for use in advertising the program such as brochures, websites, posters, or other promotional materials the program creates to promote its music class program. Permission is also granted for NJWA to copyright such photographs or videos of any class or public performance.
