Music FunTime for ages 3–5

Music FunTime is an innovative, proven early childhood curriculum offered at the New Jersey Workshop for the Arts for children ages 3–5. It is not a simple play group where children sing, dance and bang on drums. The program is based on Johns Hopkins research showing that very young children can learn to read music notation and play instruments, and that doing so strengthens their grasp of math and science by uniting the two hemispheres of the developing brain.

In small preschool-age group classes, children use musical crafts, worksheets, games and instruments in a fun, exciting way to explore the arts and build a strong learning foundation they keep building on all through their school years.
